Price Tracker Malaysia is a free tool by Wiki Impact that monitors the prices of essential goods across major supermarkets in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, and Sarawak — updated every Monday.

Whether you're planning your weekly grocery run or just want to know where to get the best deal, this is your go-to reference.

💡 Why we built this

The rising cost of living is hitting Malaysian households hard. With the removal of subsidies and global supply disruptions, prices of everyday essentials have been climbing steadily.

We built this so that ordinary Malaysians — especially those in B40 and M40 households — have a simple, transparent way to find the cheapest prices near them without having to visit multiple stores.

❓ FAQs

Why are certain brands chosen and not others? ▼

We select the most commonly purchased brand for each category — the one most likely to be in your shopping basket. For items like cooking oil and sugar, we track the most affordable mainstream brand available nationally.

How accurate are the prices? ▼

Prices are sourced from publicly available data on each store's official website every Monday. We do not have access to internal pricing systems — everything we track is openly listed online. In-store prices may vary slightly by location. We always recommend confirming at the cashier — especially for fresh items like chicken and vegetables.

When is the best time to check? ▼

Check every Monday afternoon — we publish our weekly update by 12pm. Prices on this tracker reflect the week's pricing, so they're most accurate from Monday through Sunday.

Why isn't my local supermarket listed? ▼

We currently cover 10 major chains with a national or regional presence. There are also other chains that do not have their prices online, which makes it difficult to source. We're working on adding more stores — especially independent supermarkets in East Malaysia. If you'd like to suggest one, reach out to us at wikiimpact.com.

Is this free to use? ▼

Yes — completely free, forever. Wiki Impact is a non-profit initiative. We don't accept payment from supermarkets to influence our data.

Will there be more items added to the list? ▼
